Gerald L. “Jerry” Eley, 65, of Belle Vernon, formerly of Fayette City, Pa., died Tuesday, December, 26, 2006, in the ER of Mon Valley Hospital Inc. He was born on March 17, 1941, in North Charleroi, Pa., son of the late Enoch James Eley, Sr., and the late Wilma Liviskie Eley.

He was a life member of the Fayette City Volunteer Fire Company, Fayette County Fireman’s Association, American Legion Post 484 Fayette City, and the American Slavonic Citizen’s Club of Fayette City.

Surviving are his sister, Joyce Moody and husband, Lewis; two brothers: Enoch James Eley, Jr. and wife, Linda, and Leonard R. Eley, Sr. and wife, Wanda all of Fayette City, Pa.; aunt, Ethel Hicks of Fayette City, he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the ELEY/MCCRORY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 334 Main Street, Fayette City, Pa., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday, December 29, 2006, until 11 a.m., the hour of services with Elder William Mines officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora, Pa..

The Fayette City Volunteer Fire Company will hold services on Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m., in the funeral home.
