Roberta J. Bowie
Roberta J. Bowie, age 91, of Morgantown, W.Va., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, December 27, 2006, in the Golden Living Center, formerly Morgan Manor.
She was born May 10, 1915, in New Salem, Pa., a daughter of the late Robert and Cora Brown Seaton.
Roberta was a loving wife and mother. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Morgantown and a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters: Cynthia L. Coats and husband, Jay of Morgantown and Roberta J. Warnick of Tampa, FL; one son, Charles Bowie and wife, Virginia of Port Vue, Pa.; one brother, Lewis Seaton and wife, Rosemary of Rock Hill, S.C.; four grandchildren: Marjorie, Laura, Stacy, and Carrie; and five great grandchildren: Matthew, Steven, Grace, Alex, and Mark.
Roberta was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Hanson R. Bowie in February 1987, three sisters, Madeline Bosley, Frances Roderick and Ethel Provance and one great-granddaughter, Beth Ann.
Friends may call at the MCCULLA FUNERAL HOME, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover, W.Va., on Saturday between 10 to 11 a.m., Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m., in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Rick Howard of the First Christian Church of Morgantown officiating.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Roberta’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, W.Va. Chapter, Northern Regional office, 1299 Pineview Drive, Morgantown, W.Va., 26505..
