Alvinia W. White
Alvinia W. White, 58, of Orient, Pa., passed Tuesday, January 17, 2006, in her home. She was born on May 23, 1947, in Orient, Pa., the daughter of the late Jessie White and Flossie Johnson White.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Lemire House and two brothers, Jesse and James White.
Alvinia was a graduate from Redstone High School; later migrated to Washington D.C. and worked with the Federal Agricultural Department; then returned home and worked with the Social Security Department where she retired after 32 years of service.
She was a member of Mount Ararat Baptist Church of Cardale, Pa.
Surviving are the following sisters and brothers and spouses: Mary Ann Baker and husband, Steve of Bronx, N.Y., Pearl Smith, Lonnie White and Milton White all of Filbert, Pa. and Carol Lee Kirby and husband, William of Masontown, Pa.; a special niece, Bonita Watkins and friend, James (Chuck) McRae; two adopted sons: William (Bill) Kirby and Thomas Herilla; one godson, Reese Hodge and a number of other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Friends will be received in the MOUNT ARARAT BAPTIST CHURCH, Cardale, Pa., today, January 20, 2006, from 5 to 9 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Calloway officiating.
Interment will follow in Salem View Cemetery, New Salem, Pa.
