Marian E. Zawislan
Marian E. Zawislan, 80, of Lower Burrell, Pa., formerly of Connellsville, Pa., passed away Saturday, July 1, 2006, in the Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Natrona Heights, Pa. She was born August 29, 1925, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Martin A. and Fannie Nieberg Griglak.
Marian was a longtime resident of Connellsville. She was a graduate of Connellsville High School and worked as a Clerk at West Side News in Connellsville for many years and was also a volunteer at the snack bar at the former Connellsville State General Hospital for 40 years. Marian was also a volunteer at the Connellsville Canteen during World War II, a member of the Connellsville Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and she attended Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Connellsville. She enjoyed bowling and bingo.
Marian is survived by her children: Michelle F. Reichenbaugh of Lower Burrell, John Martin Zawislan and wife, Kim of Irwin, Pa. and William M. “Putt” Zawislan and wife, Jamie of Connellsville; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers: Martin Griglak and wife, Rita of Connellsville and William Griglak and wife, Arlene of Massachusetts; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Marian was predeceased by her husband, John S. Zawislan in 1999.
Family and friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, Pa., from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday. A Prayer Service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at 10 a.m. with Father Ron Cyktor officiating.
A Committal Service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville, Pa.
