Resisting arrest charged
A Connellsville man faces a preliminary hearing in connection with a June 26 incident when he was allegedly found prowling in a Kensington Road neighborhood.
Dennis M. Graft, 48, is charged with resisting arrest and public drunkenness after police found him allegedly attempting to open doors and a window of a residence.
Graft was arraigned on the charges and freed after posting a $10,000 cash bond. A preliminary hearing in the matter will be held before Magisterial District Judge Ronald Haggerty.

Investigations continue
Police are conducting investigations into the following unrelated incidents:
– The June 23 theft of CD’s from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of West South Street.
– A June 24 criminal mischief when someone broke out the windows of a garage located in the 1200 block of South Pittsburgh Street.
– A June 25 retail theft from the Sunoco A-Plus, located along Memorial Boulevard, when a male driving a newer model, large red sports utility vehicle pumped gas and then fled without paying the attendant.
– A June 26 theft when someone removed a purse from a vehicle parked in the Shop ‘N Save parking lot.
– A June 29 theft of diesel fuel from a highlift parked at the AutoZone construction site along Vanderbilt Road.
– The June 29 theft of a cement pillar from a residence located in the 500 block of Vine Street.

Cars collide
State police said vehicles driven by Michael Smith Jr. of Smithfield and Martin Cosimatto of Republic collided on Thornton Road at 12:45 p.m. Monday. Smith and a passenger in Cosimatto’s vehicle, Edna Cosimatto, suffered minor injuries in the crash, police said.

Theft reported
State police said two cases of beer, two bottles of whiskey and a 1909 display model of a World War I era machine gun were stolen from the Republic American Legion Post 590 on Legion Street sometime between 3 p.m. Sunday and 10:30 a.m. Monday.

Two charged
Keith Lewis, 36, and a 14-year-old boy, both of Allison, were charged with disorderly conduct for setting off fireworks at a Broadway Street residence at 9 p.m. Monday, state police said.
BENTLEYVILLE
Cars crash
State police said vehicles driven by Rudolph Paci of Brownsville and Keith Cooper of Bentleyville crashed on Coal Center Road at 2:29 p.m. Sunday. Cooper suffered minor injuries, police noted.

Report issued
The Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, Pittsburgh District, investigated 1,080 complaints during June and issued 31 citations, according to officials.
The bureau made 14 arrests for underage drinking and issued 34 personal warnings for underage drinking during June.

Guns stolen
John Cobb II of Uniontown told city police that four guns were stolen from his 23 Prospect St. residence sometime Tuesday, Uniontown police said.

Hit-and-run reported
Uniontown police said someone operating a white Pontiac Grand Am struck a pole in Pershing Court and then fled the scene at 1:12 a.m. Wednesday.

Charges filed
Police have filed charges against the following individuals in unrelated incidents:
– A 14-year-old male of Connellsville with violating the liquor laws after police allegedly found him June 30 with a bottle of vodka in the 500 block of Highland Avenue.
– Robert W. Clark, 35, of Normalville with public drunkenness after he was allegedly found intoxicated July 1 in the 500 block of East Crawford Avenue.
– Floyd E. Fuller Jr., 48, of Connellsville with public drunkenness after he was allegedly found intoxicated in the 100 block of South 8th Street on July 1.
– Donald W. Swope, 39, of Connellsville with public drunkenness after he was allegedly found intoxicated July 1 in the 200 block of South Prospect Street.
– Earl G. Swank Jr., 22, of Dawson with public drunkenness after he was allegedly found intoxicated following a July 1 incident at Sheetz convenience store.
– Edward Bevan, 33, of Connellsville with retail theft after he allegedly removed five DVD movies from Hollywood Video on June 30.
– Dion McDonnell, 19, of Freeport with trespassing after he allegedly violated a trespass order at North Manor on June 30.

Burglary investigated
Police are continuing to investigate a July 1 burglary of an East Murphy Avenue residence where someone entered the home and removed three 13-inch televisions, two computers, a Sony PS2, six games, a stereo and four DVDs.

Two assaulted
State police said Tabitha Ulery and James Ulery, both of Merrittstown, were physically assaulted by someone they know at a residence on Maxwell Avenue at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Police said the known suspect will be charged in the incident.

Randy Bookshar of Merrittstown told state police that sapling trees were stolen from his Pennsylvania Avenue property sometime Wednesday, police said.

Uniontown police said several electric lines were downed when a vehicle struck a utility pole on East Main Street at 3:42 a.m. Wednesday.

Uniontown police said vandals destroyed several windows and other parts of an apartment in Pershing Court sometime prior to 10:18 a.m. Tuesday.

Adam D. Verbus Sr., 31, of 67 Lenox St. was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police and possession of drug paraphernalia after he was found allegedly operating an all-terrain vehicle in Uniontown Tuesday, city police said.

The state police at Waynesburg responded to 631 calls for service during June including 131 criminal offenses in which 82 criminal arrests were made, according to police.
The barracks investigated 52 crashes in June including one hit-and-run and made 11 arrests for driving while under the influence of alcohol, police said. Troopers issued 341 traffic citations and 540 traffic warnings during the month, police noted.

George Guseman of New Salem told state police that all the tires on his vehicle were slashed by vandals while it was parked outside a 61 Main St. residence between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. Thursday, police said.
