Eugene Edward Hayes
Eugene Edward Hayes, 84, of Dunbar, Pa., formerly of Swissvale, Pa., died peacefully on Friday, July 7, 2006, at the Cherry Tree Nursing Home, Uniontown, Pa. He was born on April 22, 1922, in Rankin, Pa., a son of Eugene and Helen (Graham)Hayes, who preceded him in death.
Eugene retired from the United States Steel Corp., Edgar Thompson Works and proudly served his country with the United States Navy.
He was lovingly known as “Red” by his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 60 years, Ruth Lucille (Schultz) Hayes; two daughters: Cheryl Lee Mozeik and husband, Ken of North Huntingdon, Pa. and Debra Lynn Upton and husband, Roy of Dunbar, Pa.; seven grandchildren: Gwende, Carrie, Bridget, Roy II, Lacey, Ryan and Richard; a great-granddaughter, Gabrielle; and a sister, Dorothy Hayes of Swissvale, Pa.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Blessing Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, July 10, 2006, at 8 a.m. with the Rev. Father Michael J. Crookston officiating.
Military Honors and interment will follow at 10 a.m. in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, Pa.
George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103, Hopwood, Pa., will also accord Military Honors.
