Freda Jean Esper Nypaver, 78, of Uniontown, Pa., died Friday, July 7, 2006, in the Uniontown Hospital. She was born October 18, 1927, in Uniontown.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Michael Esper and Marsha Barkett Esper, her husband, Edward Nypaver, a brother, Joseph Esper and three sisters: Ann Mullen, Jeanette Surgenour and Catherine Coughenour.

Mrs. Nypaver was a graduate of Seton Hill College and taught English in the Connellsville Area School district until her retirement.

She was a member of Saint George Maronite Catholic Church, Ladies Guild and Alter Rosary Society of Saint George Maronite Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers’ of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, the Pennsylvania State Education Association, and was a very gifted Bridge player and an avid tennis player in her younger years.

Surviving are three brothers: Michael Esper and his wife, Pauline of Connellsville, Pa., George Esper of Boston, Mass. and Thomas Esper and his wife, Polly of Uniontown; a sister, Rose Jabour of Gardner, Ind. and many loving nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday until 9:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint George Maronite Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with Father Joseph R. David as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.

The Parish Rosary will be said at 4 p.m. today in the funeral home with a Service of Ghinnaz at 8 p.m.
