Edward J. Surniak, 80, of Castle Circle, Greensburg, Pa., formerly of Everson, Pa., died Monday, July 10, 2006, in Frick Hospital, Excela Health, Mount Pleasant, Pa. He was a veteran of the United States Army who served during World War II. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart, European Theater Medal and World War II Medal.

Edward is survived by his sister, Jane D. Surniak of Greensburg, Pa.; brother-in-law, Casimir A. Koza of Scottdale, Pa; and nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc., 417 West Pittsburgh Street, Scottdale, Pa., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
