Daniel T. Samek
Daniel T. Samek, 84, of Boothwyn, Pa., Upper Chichester Township, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at Naamans Creek Country Manor in Boothwyn. He was born in Star Junction, Pa., the son of Steve Samek and Clara Samek nee Yacobosky.
He was the owner and operator of Dan Samek’s Refrigeration since 1962.
Dan was a World War II veteran who received the Good Conduct Medal, EAME Service Ribbon, Victory Medal, two Purple Heart Medals and a Bronze Cluster. He was also involved in the Battle of the Bulge.
He was a member of the Szymanski Rywacki American Legion Post 546 in Chester, Pa. and a life long member of Saint Hedwig’s Roman Catholic Church.
He enjoyed going to Elsmere, Delaware VA Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joan M. Samek who passed away on December 1, 1984.
Dan is survived by a son Daniel T. Samek of Kelsterbach, Germany; a brother Steve Samek of Trafford, Pa; sisters Julia Sinicki of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Theresa Hajduk of Star Junction, Pa.; and one grandchild Daniel M. Samek of Orlando, Florida.
Calling will be after 7 p.m. today and after 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 14, at the KANIEFSKI-KENDUS-D’ANJOLELL MEMORIAL HOME, 3900 West Ninth Street, Trainer, Pa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday at 1 p.m. at Saint Hedwig’s, Fourth and Hayes Streets, Chester, Pa.
Burial will take place in Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, Pa.
Donations may be made in Daniel’s name to the Szymanski Rywacki American Legion Post 546.
