The closure will be in place so that crews can repair an embankment failure and replace pipe.
A detour calls for taking Layton Road to Florence Road to Route 3073 to Route 981 to Route 3035 (Jacobs Creek Road).
The contractor for the project is Frank Gavlik and Sons of Bentleyville. Work is scheduled to be complete by Monday, Aug. 7.
PennDOT reminds motorists to drive with caution through any work area.
