Francis V. ‘Sam’ Rossini

Francis V. “Sam” Rossini, age 64, of 227 Westwood Avenue, Masontown, PA 15461 died at 9:07 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2006, in his home. He was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, on August 27, 1941, the son of James Rossini and Rose (Martello) Rossini.

“Sam” was a member of the winning Masontown Little League All-Star Team of 1954 and played in the World Series in Williamsport, Pa.

Mr. Rossini graduated from the Staunton Military Academy and attended West Virginia University.

“Sam” worked as a Tax Collector in Albert Gallatin and Masontown for the past 12 years and was President of Rose Motors in Masontown.

He was a member of All Saints Roman Catholic Church, Masontown, Pa., a member of The Holy Name Society and a former Church Council member.

He was a 4th Degree member of The Knights of Columbus in Masontown and a past Grand Knight.

“Sam” was also a member of the Masontown Italian Club where he had served as Treasurer and Trustee and a member of the Frank Ricco Italian Club Chapter 713 in Brownsville, Pa.

He was an avid golfer at Lake View Country Club.

His parents preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Arleen (Gable) Rossini; a son, Tony Rossini of Masontown, Pa., and a daughter, Melanie Rossini, also of Masontown; brothers: Victor Rossini and his wife, Pam, of Uniontown, Pa., and James Rossini and his wife, Nadine, of Bethel Park, Pa.; a brother-in-law, James Gable and his wife, Sandy, of Uniontown, Pa.; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family will greet friends in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church at 7 River Avenue, Masontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. where a Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, July 19, at 9:30 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel.

A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in All Saints Roman Catholic Church, Masontown, with the Rev. Father James F. Bump and the Rev. Father John Butler as Con-Celebrants.

Interment will follow in Mount Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.

Parish Wake Service will be held in the Funeral Home today at 3 p.m.

The 4th Degree Knights of Columbus will stand Honor Guard today from 7 to 8 p.m.

Visitation was also held Monday from 6 to 9 p.m.

The Frank Ricco Italian Club will hold services today at 7 p.m.
