Thomas L. Myers

Thomas L. Myers, 71, of Uniontown, Pa., and formerly of Lancaster, Pa., passed away with family at his bedside, early Tuesday, morning, July 18, 2006, in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born on September 3, 1934, son of the late Ward L. Myers and Elizabeth Myers of Muncy, Pa., Ward L. Myers Elementary School, Muncy, Pa., was named for his father.

Tom was self-employed with Classic Arts and Franklin Furniture for many years. He graduated from Muncy High School, where he was on the basketball and baseball team, and he was a graduate of LaFayette College. An avid sports fan and intellectual, he possessed an unparalleled wealth of knowledge and statistical information, and truly loved all sporting competitions.

A wonderful husband, father, and friend to many, he will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 33 years, Janet Buchko Myers; a son, Martin Myers and wife, Beth of Studio City, Calif.; a brother, John Myers of Muncy, Pa.; sisters-in-law: Patty, Barbara, and Dolores Buchko of Uniontown, Pa, Ida Morganosky of Uniontown, Pa., and Lois Myers; brothers-in-law: Robert Vilseck and wife, Carol of Pittsburgh, Pa., William Jansen and wife, Joan of Baltimore, Md., Michael Buchko and wife, Connie of Dunnellon, Fla.; and the following nieces and nephews: Billy Jansen, Karen, Robbie, and Craig Horlacher, Lisa Buchko, Jeff, Robin, and Judson Buchko, Robbie, Roni, Tori, and Kelci Vilseck, Wendy and Matt Bagaley, Scott, Cindy, Madison and Kylie Vilseck, Tammy, James and Ashley Albani, Patrick, Michelle, and Olivia Morganosky, Jacquie and Dave Johnson, Todd Myers, and Jan and Rob Horne.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., on Thursday from 2 to 9 p.m., and on Friday, July 21, 2006, when a Blessing Service will be held at noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Father Kevin E. Marks officiating.

Interment will follow in Saint John the Baptist Byzantine Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 332 North Lauderdale, Memphis, Tenn., 38105, or a charity of your choice.
