Rose Marie Radachy Mores

Rose Marie Radachy Mores, 89 1/2, loving wife of the late John Mores, who died September 28, 1975, beloved mother of three, died peacefully in her home on Thursday, July 20, 2006. Rose maintained her home independently for 30 years and was a resident of Millsboro for 68 years.

She was born January 6, 1917, in Labelle, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Tomko Radachy.

She was the last survivor of the Mores and Radachy families of her generation.

Surviving are three children: Patricia Zimmerman (Ronald) of Allison Park, John Melvin Mores (Sherry) of Monroeville and Laraine Nelson (James) of Estes Park, Colorado.

Rose was dearly loved by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and was a hands on grandmother who left cherished memories. Her grandchildren are Greg, Kurt and Ronald Mores Zimmerman, Lynn Deutschbauer (Adam), Wendy Young (Darrin), Scott Mores, Valerie Rojo (Rick) and Doug Carmichael; great-grandchildren are Kyra Rojo and Luke Deutschbauer.

Survivors also include the Radachy, Garcia, Torres, Kurtz, Drotos, Diprampero and Manni families and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews with whom she maintained a lifelong correspondence.

Writing, literature, poetry, reading, mathematics, numbers and travel were her passions. She received an excellence in literature at East Beth Schools.

Her many activities included flowers, gardening and canning. She was known as the “Daffodil Lady” and “Daffodils” was one of her favorite poems. She memorized and recited many poems.

Rose obtained her hairdresser’s license when her children began leaving for college. She practiced her trade on relatives and friends over many years.

She and her husband John were avid travelers and made many trips out west.

As a charter member of the Beth Center Area Senior Citizens, she traveled to England, the west coast and other destinations. She was an enthusiastic card player with the seniors.

In remembrance of a life well lived, she supported many neighbors and friends as they needed help and likewise, neighbors and friends returned the support in abundance.

Rose was a lifelong member of Saint Oliver Plunkett Parish, Saint Michaels Church in Fredericktown, where she and John were married June 28, 1935.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday at the FRANK BURKUS FUNERAL HOME, 29 MILL STREET, MILLSBORO, Pa., where a Prayer Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 24, 2006, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Oliver Plunkett Parish, Saint Michaels Church in Fredericktown at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Grunebach, as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Fredericktown Cemetery.
