Two busted for drugs

By Josh Krysak 2 min read

Two area residents were charged with possession of cocaine and possession with intent to deliver cocaine after Uniontown police found them with 3.1 grams of the suspected drug in Bailey Park Thursday night. Brandon Harrison, 19, of 22 Back St., McClellandtown, and Amber Rayoni, 18, of 50 North St., Uniontown, were charged for the drug violations before Magisterial District Judge Joseph George Jr. early Friday.

City officers Jennifer Pounds and Dennis H. Field were patrolling the park area around 11:30 p.m. when they spotted the pair parked in a vehicle with a Massachusetts license plate, according to police.

Police said officers approached the vehicle because the park was closed.

When neither Harrison nor Rayoni could provide identification, officers searched them and the vehicle, police said.

During the search of the vehicle, police discovered a plastic bag containing a large rock of suspected crack cocaine, Pounds said.

The suspected drug field-tested positive as cocaine, police said.

After the drugs were found, officers transported the pair to the city police station for further questioning, during which $900 was found in Harrison’s sock, Pounds said.

Additionally, while Harrison denied that the drugs found in the vehicle were his, Rayoni told police that the cocaine was hers and that she paid $30 for it, police said.

Both Harrison and Rayoni were placed in the Fayette County Prison on $30,000 bond each, police said.
