James R. Rose

James R. “Nero” Rose, 76, of Altoona, Pa., formerly of Uniontown, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, July 22, 2006, in the Hillview Beverly Care in Altoona. He was born October 29, 1929, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of the late Harry William Rose and May Marie Whaler Rose.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan Susege Rose on July 18, 1995, and his sister, Dorothy Roberts.

James was a member of Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church and a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War. He also served in the United States Marines from 1958 to 1961.

He was employed with the former J &J Company and for the Bell & Cuppett Company in Uniontown.

He is survived by his loving children: Jerry Rose and wife, Patricia of Altoona, Pa. and Jamie Rose-Allen of Uniontown; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME AT 71 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE, UNIONTOWN, Pa., on Monday, July 24, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday morning, July 25, 2006 until 9 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Michael J. Crookston as Celebrant.

Interment follows in Mount Macrina Cemetery.

Military Honors will be accorded at graveside.
