Anthony A. Shuli
Anthony A. Shuli, 77, or Republic, Pa., passed away Sunday, July 23, 2006, in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born on August 2, 1928, in Republic, Pa., a son of Nicolao Shuli and Victoria Bucci Shuli.
Tony was a graduate of Redstone High School Class of 1946, he attended California State College for two years, graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in administration of justice with adjudication emphasis.
Tony was a veteran of the United States Army who served in the Korean Conflict and he was a member and a past Post Commander of the Republic American Legion Post 590.
He was elected to the office of Magisterial District Judge in 1970 and had served for eighteen years. He also served as Redstone Township Constable.
Tony attended Holy Rosary Church in Republic, Pa.
He was a member of the Brownsville Knights of Columbus Council 3461, the Pietro Micca Lodge Sons of Italy 556 of Republic, the Republic Rotary Club, Fairbank Rod ad Gun Club, Past President of the District Justice Association of Fayette County, Past Vice President of District Justice Association of Pa., National Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police, B.P.O.E. Lodge 1969, Brownsville, Fayette County Sportsmen League, Merrittstown Rod and Gun Club, the Pennsylvania Sheriff’s Association and Hopwood AMVETS Post 103.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his guardian angel, Helen Ferrari and family members Mark and James Ferrari.
Surviving are family members, Linda Burrell of Allison, Pa., Barry Ferrari of Uniontown, Pa., Cindy and Dave Marshall of LaBelle, Pa., Brenda Ferrari of Monongahela, Pa.; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and a very close friend, Michael Mucy of Allison, Pa.
Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME, INC., Legion Street, Republic, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, July 27, until 11 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held, with the Rev. Father Stephen Bugay officiating.
Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park where Military Rites will be accorded by Hopwood AMVETS Post 103.
A Parish Wake Service will be held on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
