Alvin Reason Stewart, 88, of Smock, Pa., died Monday, July 24, 2006, in his home with his loving wife at his side. He was born January 25, 1918, in Brady, West Virginia, a son of Charles and Margaret (Atwood) Stewart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two children, Alvin Douglas and Starlett Dawn Stewart, two sisters, Margaret Mayes and Thelma Higginbotham, four brothers, William Richard Stewart, Calvin Stewart, Harry Stewart, and Charles Stewart and two grandchildren, Alvin Owen Stewart Doyle and Robert D. Holbert.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Gloria R. Stewart; his daughter, Loreli (John) Roll, daughter, Linda D. (Edward) Schrecongost, daughter, Gloria Grace Stewart, daughter, Roberta J. (Earl) Roberts, daughter, Loreen G. (James) Mego, and a daughter, Mary M. (Ralph) Doyle; sister, Genievive Tichner; brothers, Samuel, Ronald, and Ernest Lee Stewart; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Extension, Uniontown, Pa., today and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, July 28, until 11 a.m. with the Rev. Benny Higginbotham officiating.

Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded by George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 13 of Hopwood.
