Kenneth F. Burkhart
Kenneth F. Burkhart, 88, passed away on July 22, 2006. Kenneth was born in Uniontown, Pa., and resided in Hiller, Pa., the son of Gustave and Martha Burkhart.
He graduated from Brownsville High School and was employed by Manufacturers Light and Heat Company. He spent four and a half years in the United States Army Engineers in World War II who served in the European Theater of Operations.
From 1947 to 1972 he lived in Reno, Nevada while employed by Sierra Pacific Power Company and was a member of Washoe Lodge Number 35 F. & A. M.
From 1972 to 1983 he lived in West Palm Beach, Florida, and was employed by the South Florida Water Management District. He retired in 1983 and lived in West Palm Beach, Florida and LaBelle, Florida and Port Saint Lucie, Florida.
He was a member of Saint Andrew Lutheran Church, Port Saint Lucie and also was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorris M. Burkhart and a sister, Lois B. Ordner.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth Burkhart and his wife Dale of Fairless Hills, Pa.; grandsons, Bryan Burkhart of Edgewood, Maryland, Kyle Burkhart of Natick, Massachusetts; and a sister Doris B. Ahearn of Port Saint Lucie, Florida.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., on Friday, July 28, from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. when funeral services will be held in the funeral hoe chapel with the Rev. Bernard Carl officiating.
Entombment will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa., where Military Honors will be accorded by George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103.
