Charles Krisfalusy
Charles Krisfalusy, 86, of West Brownsville, Pa., and a resident of West Malden Manor, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 26, 2006, with his family by his side. He was born July 13, 1920, in Vesta 6, Pa., son of the late John and Mary (Robosky) Krisfalusy.
Charlie served for 18 years as a member of the California Area Board of Education. He was retired from California University of Pennsylvania and Max Berkman’s Market in Daisytown.
He served our country during World War II as a Cannoneer.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Rohaley Krisfalusy, son and daughter-in-law, Dennis James, and Lois Krisfalusy, who perished in the Mexico City earthquake in 1985, brothers, John, Frank, and Michael and sisters, Mary and Maria and his in-laws, Michael and Mary Rohaley.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Patricia Maxon of West Brownsville, Pa., Charles and wife, Kathleen Krisfalusy of Monongahela, Pa., Cynthia and husband, Robert Schmidt of Roscoe, Pa., Lisa Nevala of Brownsville, Pa.; sisters, Ann Andresky of Coal Center, Pa., and Helen Konorosky of East Lake, Ohio. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and their spouses: Timothy Maxon and Monica Stay, Christopher and Cherie Maxon, Karla and Richard Persia, Jennifer and Cabe Powell, Casey and Janet Maxon, Kimberly and John Popp, Jessica Schmidt, Kevin and Adrianna Krisfalusy, Nathaniel and Matthew Nevala; 12 great grandchildren, Shane and Madison Maxon, Jordan, Brandon, and Caden Powell, Kacie and Ashley Persia, Camryn, Christian and Christopher Maxon, Andrew Popp, Gianna Stay; two great-grandchildren who are on their way to parents Casey and Janet and Kimberly and John; numerous nieces and nephews of the Krisfalusy & Rohaley families; sons-in-law, Timothy Maxon Sr. and Vince Nevala; his best friend, Fred Todd; and the care givers from West Malden Manor in Charleroi.
Friends will be received in the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME, INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, Pa. on Saturday, July 29 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 31, when Funeral Services will be conducted in the funeral home by members of Charlie’s family.
Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
