Clarence R. ‘Rob’ Conn Sr.
Clarence R. “Rob” Conn Sr., 78, of Lower Oliver 3, passed away Monday, July 24, 2006, at his residence. He was born October 19, 1927, in Mount Braddock, Pa., the son of the late Robert O. and Della Firestone Conn.
“Rob” was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time in the mountains. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy.
In addition to his parents, three brothers, Samuel, Charles and Oscar Elwood Conn and a sister, Erma Lehman, preceded him in death.
He was a veteran of the United States Army where he was awarded a World War II Victory Medal. He was a life long member of the Valley Sportsman Club in Oliver 3.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Betty Ashton Conn; his loving four children: Pam Conn and companion, Kevin Marilungo, Robin Hill and husband, Doug, (Clarence) Rob Conn and wife, Terry and Brian Scott Conn and wife, Pam all of Uniontown; his mother-in-law, Kathryn Ashton of Lower Oliver 3; six grandchildren: Kristin, Casey and Ally Conn, Jennifer Zungri, Zack Hill and Ashleigh Conn; two great-grandchildren: Kaia and Madison Zungri; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, July 29, 2006, until 10 a.m. the hour of Service with Pastor Bryan L. Kelley officiating.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association in Clarence’s name.
