Uniontown man jailed

1 min read

United States Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan announced Friday that James Mullen, a resident of Uniontown, has been sentenced in a Pittsburgh federal court to 66 months incarceration and five years supervised release on his conviction of violating federal controlled drug laws. United States District Judge Terrence F. McVerry imposed the sentence on Mullen, 43, of 63 Nutt Ave.

According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Gregory Nescott, Mullen supplied methamphetamine for a series of undercover purchases by authorities in March and April 2005.

On May 11, 2005, a search of Mullen’s home by law enforcement resulted in the seizure of nearly six ounces of methamphetamine, more than $8,600 in cash, and drug packaging paraphernalia.

Buchanan commended the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Narcotics Enforcement Team, Pittsburgh Police Department, Uniontown Police Department, and Washington City Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Mullen.
