Center to hold dinner
CONNELLSVILLE – The Wesley Health Center is sponsoring an all you can eat spaghetti dinner on Saturday, March 11 at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 417 S. Pittsburgh St., from 3 to 7 p.m. According to Marilyn Weaver, board member, the center has been providing free primary health care for the past 13 years to the uninsured in the community. Volunteers, community partnerships, donations and grants fund the center.
Gia Russa Foods will sponsor the event by providing sauce, pasta and cheese and also prepare the spaghetti. In addition, Pechins, Martins Foods and Shop ‘N Save of Connellsville have committed to sponsorship.
Weaver said that Wesley Church members, along with the health center’s board members will volunteer their time as well as donating funds to purchase some of the remaining items needed.
In addition to the dinner, free blood pressure screening will be provided.
The cost of the dinner is $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 years old and under.
Weaver said the support from the community partners will indeed make this endeavor a “true” community fund-raiser.
