The Rev. Michael Malone begins ministry in Perryopolis

The Rev. Michael Malone recently began his ministry in Perryopolis. He is an ordained minister of the Christian Church Disciples of Christ with more than 10 years experience in pulpit ministry. He has served Disciples congregations in southern Illinois, western New York and most recently in the state of California. Although raised in a Navy family, Malone grew up mostly in San Diego, Calif. He has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Cal State Hayward, a master of marriage and family therapy degree from Abilene Christian University and a master of divinity degree from Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, Ind. Before being called to the ministry, Malone worked as a social worker, therapist, addictions counselor and marriage and family counselor.

Malone has two children, aged 21 and 23, and a 16-month-old grandson. He lives with his wife, Laurie, and their Bernese mountain dog puppy in the Lowther parsonage.
