Helen Jean Rimmel Leonard, age 70, of Dawson, Pa., died Thursday, March 16, 2006, in the Westmoreland Regional Health Center, Greensburg, Pa.

She was born in Dawson, Pa., on November 15, 1935, the daughter of Fletcher and Helen Belle Rimmel.

Helen attended the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church and was a retired employee from Pechin’s Market.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Clarissa Nicholson in 1997.

Surviving are her husband, John Leonard; one son, John and his wife, Rebecca, of Dawson, Pa.; one daughter, Larissa Powers and her husband, James, of Clearwater, Florida; 12 grandchildren; one brother, Harry Rimmel of Cleveland, Ohio; and one sister, Rose Rimmel O’Boyle of Houston, Texas.

Friends will be received in the RALPH E. GALLEY FUNERAL HOME, Railroad at Laughlin streets, Dawson, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday, March 20, until 9:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held.

A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville, with the Rev. Father Terry A. Hercik as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Connellsville, Pa.

Visitation was also held Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
