Dorothy King Snyder
Dorothy (King) Snyder, age 77, of McDonald, Pa., died on Saturday, March 18, 2006, in her home after a courageous six-year battle with cancer.
She was born on April 6, 1928, in Farmington, Pa., a daughter of John T. King and Bernadette (Baker) King.
She graduated from the Uniontown High School Class of 1946 and did secretarial work for the Robinson Automobile Company, Uniontown, and the Association for the Blind, Uniontown.
Mrs. Snyder was a member of the Midway United Methodist Church, Midway, Pa., where she had been a choir member, substitute pianist and served on the Social Committee.
On November 19, 1954, she married her beloved Husband, John Leonard Snyder. He died January 12, 1992.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are two sons: Mark E. Snyder and Alan J. Snyder both of McDonald, Pa.; one sister, Emma Gleason and her husband, Norman, of Farmington, Pa.; two brothers: Ernest King and his wife, Viola, of Ohiopyle, Pa., and Gene King and his wife, Lewana, of Farmington, Pa.; two brothers-in-law: the Rev. Doyle Snyder and his wife, Beverly, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and the Rev. Dr. Jerry Kirk and his wife, Patricia, of Cincinnati, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the LEE AND MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Visitation continues in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Route 40, FARMINGTON, Pa., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where Services will be held on Wednesday, March 22, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Doyle Snyder officiating.
Interment will follow in the Samson Chapel Cemetery, Farmington, Pa.
