Evelyn Thompson Jones Rhodes, 91 years, of Medina, Ohio, and formerly of DuPont Village, Fayette County, Pa., and Fairchance, Pa., died Thursday, March 16, 2006, in Medina General Hospital. She was born February 1, 1915, in Giles County, Virginia, daughter of John Thompson and Florence Barte Thompson.

Evelyn graduated in the Class of 1934 from the former Georges Township High School.

She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Fairchance and The Victory Sunday School Class, The Golden Agers in Uniontown, Pa., and the Smithfield (Pa.) Senior Citizens.

Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, husband, Clayton Rhodes, her son, Robert S. Jones, and her sister, Pearl Blaney.

Surviving are: her daughter-in-law, Blanche Jones, Brunswick, Ohio; granddaughter with whom she made her home, Bobbi Jones Dearth and husband Jason, Medina, Ohio; two great grandsons: Austin Robert Dearth and Nathan Wade Dearth; three sisters: Virginia Smith, Cleveland, Ohio, Joy Ann Backus, Scranton, Pa., and Nellie June Fear, American Canyon, California; nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Jody Cramer Watson, Fairchance, Pa.

The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., today (Monday, March 20) until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. Emily Byrd officiating.

Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.

Visitation was also held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
