Audrey Beryl Connor Gideon, 85, of Carmichaels, Pa., died Wednesday, March 22, 2006, in Beverly Health Care Center, Waynesburg, Pa.

She was born January 14, 1921, in Gates, Pa., a daughter of William Calvin and Anna Jaynes Connor.

Mrs. Gideon Worked as a “Rosie the Riveter” in defense plants in Detroit, Michigan, during World War II.

She later helped her husband at Gideon’s Garage in Carmichaels.

Mrs. Gideon was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Civic Club, both in Carmichaels.

She enjoyed knitting, quilting, upholstering and ceramics. She befriended many people.

On August 9, 1946, she married John H. Gideon, who died November 14, 1980.

Surviving are a daughter, Susan Lawrence (John Paul) of Carmichaels; four grandchildren: J.P., Ben, Caitlin and Katrina Lawrence and a sister, Betty Jean Berish (Robert) of Masontown.

Deceased are a granddaughter, Jennifer Lawrence; a sister, Eleanor Wilson and two brothers, Jack and William Connor.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday and 10 until 11 a.m., the hour of services, Saturday, March 25, 2006, in PAUL M. LESAKO FUNERAL HOME, INC., Carmichaels, with the Rev. Lois Swestyn officiating. Burial will follow in Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels.
