Evelyn Donley Raber
Evelyn Donley Raber, 93, of Maidsville, West Virginia, died at 6:45 a.m., on Thursday, March 23, 2006, at Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia. She was born January 18, 1913, in Bald Hill (Dunkard Township), Greene County, Pa. a daughter of the late Ira J. and Adelia Belle Stone Donley. Mrs. Raber resided for the past seven years at Point Manor Personal Care Home, Point Marion, Pa. and was a member of the former Bald Hill United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degree from Waynesburg College and attended California Teachers College (California University of Pennsylvania) where she was certified in special education. She later received a master’s degree from West Virginia University. Mrs. Raber taught school for 35 years at the former Davistown Elementary School and the Bobtown Elementary School and worked for 10 years as regional coordinator for the Regional Education Service Agency in Morgantown. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association of West Virginia and the Former Lady Taylor Rebekah Lodge.
On August 19, 1931, she married Willis J. Raber, who died January 28, 1995.
Surviving are a brother, Ira J. Donley and his wife, Deloris of Dilliner, Pa. and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Raymond Fallquist.
Family and friends are welcomed from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m., the hour of the funeral service on Saturday, March 25, 2006, in the YOSKOVICH FUNERAL HOME, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, Pa. (724-966-5500)with the Rev. Willard Morse officiating.
Private interment will take place on Monday, March 27, 2006, at Highland Cemetery, Davistown.
