Saltlick Twp. woman gets house arrest
Uniontown police obtained an arrest warrant for William Robert Oleksik Jr., 23, of 362 Walnut Hill Road, South Union Township, for allegedly stealing a .44-caliber black powder revolver from Woodlands World on West Main Street in Uniontown on Thursday. The warrant charges Oleksik with felony counts of retail theft and receiving stolen property.
Oleksik allegedly fled the store on foot and went to the pawnshop on North Gallatin Avenue, where he got a ride from someone.
He was given a ride to Kurosky’s Auto Sales on Pittsburgh Street and allegedly sold the gun to Paul Kurosky for $80, police said. An officer and two Fayette County deputy sheriffs recovered the gun from Kurosky.
A deputy stopped the vehicle Oleksik got a ride in, but he fled on foot, police said. He left his jacket and wallet, which contained his driver’s license behind when he ran, police said.
