Clarence E. Beattie Sr., age 79, of Perryopolis, Pa., passed away Saturday, April 29, 2006. He was born March 1, 1927, in Brownsville, Pa. Clarence was the son of James Beattie and Mamie Crouse Beattie.

Clarence was a member of the Lions Club in Smock, Pa.

He was a veteran of World War II who served with the United States Army.

Clarence retired from the Monongahela Railroad in 1989.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Thelma Louise Beattie, a brother, William C. Beattie, and a cousin, J. W. Beatty.

Clarence is survived by his loving children: son, Clarence E. Beattie Jr., and daughter, Linda Beattie Budd and her husband, Kenny, all of Perryopolis.

He was the proud grandfather of Kimmi Bailey and her husband, Jeffery, of Smock, Pa., and Ashley Beattie of Perryopolis. Clarence will also be missed by two brothers: Joseph Julian and his wife, Judy, of Carmichaels, Pa., and Robert E. Beattie and his wife, Geraldine, of Ohio; and two sisters: Marie Hildreth of Ohio and Mrs. Susan Honkowicz and her husband, Edward, of Uniontown, Pa.

Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 East Independence Street, Perryopolis, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, May 3, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service. The Rev. Mike Malone will officiate.

Entombment will follow in The Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.

Military Rites and Honors will be accorded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Gold Star Post 7023 and the American Legion Post 752 both of Perryopolis.
