Marjorie L. Smith Whetzel
Marjorie L. Smith Whetzel, age 89, of Brownsville, Pa., passed away Saturday, April 29, 2006, in Cherry Tree Nursing Center, Uniontown, Pa. She was born August 20, 1916, in Brownsville, Pa., the daughter of George Smith and Mary Geekie Smith.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her infant daughter, Judith, who passed away June 22, 1944, three brothers, George Smith, James Smith and Ashbel Smith, and three sisters, Isobel Hamilton, Melissa Confalone and Fannie Casper.
She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 68 years, Lewis Raymond Whetzel; son, Ronald Whetzel and his wife Margaret, Grindstone, Pa.; daughter, Susan Whetzel Franks and her husband Harold Franks, Connellsville, Pa.; son, Thomas Whetzel, Brownsville, Pa.; sister, Elizabeth Smith Waterhouse, Michigan; two grandchildren: Scott Franks, Connellsville, Pa., and Amy Franks, Connellsville, Pa.; great-grandson, Scotty Franks; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, Pa., today, May 1, from 4 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, May 2, until 11 a.m., the hour of the Service. The Rev. Paul E. Wilson will officiate.
Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
