Township approves agreement
CUMBERLAND TWP. – Cumberland Township supervisors approved an agreement Monday to create a comprehensive plan with seven other municipalities. The supervisors unanimously voted in favor of an intergovernmental cooperation agreement to prepare a plan to replace the existing one that is 25 years old, William C. Groves, chairman of the supervisors said.
“It needs re-tweaked,” Groves said.
The other townships involved are Perry, Monongahela, Greene, Dunkard and Wayne and the boroughs are Greensboro and Carmichaels, he said.
Perry Township, Carmichaels and Greensboro received grant money to prepare the plan, Groves said.
A firm will be hired to write the plan after all the municipalities approve the agreement, he said.
