The Education Council of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce has honored Kelley Stewart of Point Marion, a junior at Albert Gallatin High School, as student of the month for March. The daughter of Jack and Jane Stewart, she plans to attend either St. Vincent College or Carnegie Mellon University to study industrial engineering and then pursue a career in engineering.

She has worked as a receptionist and stable hand at Emma Kaufmann Camp. Stewart volunteers with the Point Marion Planning Committee, Salvation Army and the youth group at St. Hubert’s Roman Catholic Church. She is a member of the National Honor Society.

She is very involved in extracurricular activities at Albert Gallatin High School. Her activities include band, percussion and drum line section leader, Model UN, duel enrollment program at Penn State, scholastic art exhibitor and Penn State Engineering Program.
