May 6, 2006 Gary Crozier’s letter to the editor in Friday’s paper was on the behalf of himself not Uniontown City Council.

In a photo caption published Friday of a firing squad salute at the National Day of Prayer service in Connellsville, it wasn’t that someone in the firing squad fired too early or late but that one of the rifles did not discharge, likely because there wasn’t enough gunpowder in the gun, according to Dan Burkholder, president of the Connellsville Veterans Commission. The Herald-Standard apologizes for the error.
