Bette Lorraine (Barnhart) Lavery, age 80, of Masontown, Pa., passed away at 5:45 a.m. on Monday, May 8, 2006, in her home. She was born in Gates, Pa., on December 22, 1925, the daughter of George B. Barnhart and Jessie (King) Barnhart.

She was a homemaker.

Bette was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Carl, Joseph, Robert, Lenord, and Charles, sisters Myrtle, Ruth, Viola, Leona, Iona, Dorothy and Alice. Bette was the last surviving member of her family.

She is survived by her husband Elzie Lavery of Masontown, Pa.; her children, Sue and husband Ronald Crow of Lake Lynn, Pa., Elzie and wife Mary Lavery Jr. of Smithfield, Pa., John Lavery of Smithfield, Gay and husband Robert Bergman of Masontown, Pa., Kathy and husband Howard McDaniel of Fairchance, Pa., Tammy and husband Gary Miller of Smithfield, Pa.; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, Corner of Church and River Avenues, Masontown, Pa., today and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, May 11, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jay Hurley officiating.

Interment will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
