Oren Lester “Pete” McDowell
Oren Lester “Pete” McDowell, age 75, of Detroit, Michigan, died April 25, 2006, after a brief illness. He was born April 1, 1931, in Oliver One, Fayette County, Pa.
He attended North Union Township schools.
He made his home in Buelah, Michigan, after retiring from Kroger’s and enjoyed wintering in Florida.
He was preceded in death by his wife Laura, Father James E. McDowell, Sr., Mother Elsie S. (nee Grimes) McDowell, brother Lloyd, sisters June Deck and Judy Axler.
He is survived by his son Rikky of Detroit, Michigan, son, Pete of Hopwood, Pa., daughter, Debra King of Hopwood, Pa.; brothers, James E. Jr., of Detroit, Michigan and Walter of Amherst, Ohio; sisters, Wanda Miller of Pittsburgh, Pa.; three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
There was no visitation.
Private services were held at the Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Chalk Hill, Pa., on April 29, 2006.
