Community calendar – May 12
FREDERICKTOWN UNITED METHODIST CHURCH will hold a chicken and biscuit dinner on Election Day, Tuesday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children under age 12. Take-outs will be available. REHOBOTH PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, off Finley Road, will hold a flea market on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Baked goods, hotdogs and drinks will also be sold.
UNIONTOWN BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL WOMEN will hold their monthly dinner meeting on Wednesday at the Uniontown Country Club, 25 Bailey Lane, Uniontown. Networking is at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 6. Guest speaker is James Morgan of the Habitat for Humanity. The club scholarship will be awarded. Anyone wishing to join the group can make a reservation by calling Bobbie Dobler at 724-439-4608 by 9 p.m. Sunday.
HOPWOOD GARDEN CLUB will be selling perennial plants on May 20 as part of the National Road festival. Included in the sale are houseplants, container gardens, vases, baskets, decorative items and other treasures of interest to gardeners. A special raffle will also be held. The sale runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of Four Star Pizza, Hopwood.
NORTH UNION VFW POST 8543 will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the post home.
