Anna Ruth Hellen, age 85 years, of Smithfield, Pa., passed away Saturday, May 13, 2006, at the Uniontown Hospital. She was born in Smithfield, Pa., on December 21, 1920, a daughter of the now late Frank Hellen and Isa Fields Hellen.

She was a member of and attended the Smithfield United Methodist Church having joined in 1936.

In later years she attended the Woodbridge Union Church and its Sunday School for a period of 40 years until March of 1993 when she returned to the Smithfield United Methodist Church and was a continuous member until her passing.

Ruth was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, George, Herbert, Frank, Robert and Ed Hellen, and four sisters, Ethel Handschumaker, Lillian Walters, Elizabeth Burket and Elva Evans.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends in the JOHN F. BROWNFIELD FUNERAL HOME OF SMITHFIELD, Pa., today from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, May 16, 2006, until 11 a.m. when Services will be conducted in the Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sharyn Robinson officiating.

Interment will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
