Edward J. Kindervater Karlowitz
Edward J. Kindervater (Karlowitz). 81, of Fairbank, Pa., passed away Monday, May 15, 2006, in the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. He was born on June 6, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois, a son of Edward Kindervater and May Catherine Zarycka Kindervater.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army who served in the European African Theatre, where he received three bronze stars.
Edward as a member of Saint Thomas Roman Catholic Church in Footedale, Pa.
He was retired from United States Steel’s Maple Creek Mine and a member of the United Mine Workers Association.
He was a member of the Hopwood AMVETS Post 103.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Helen Kiec Kindervater, in 1981, a son, Robert L. Kindervater, in 1998, brothers, Robert and Thomas Karlowicz, a stepbrother, Edward A. Kindervater.
He is survived by his son, Ronald Kindervater and his wife Gloria Jean of Waynesburg, Pa.; grandchildren, David Kindervater, Eric Kindervater and his wife Melissa, Ryan Kindervater, and R. J. Kindervater; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kohl, and Emma Kindervater; a special sister, Rose Richardson of New Salem, Pa.; brothers, John (Cutty) Karlowicz of Canton, Michigan and Frank Karlowicz and his wife Irene of Adah, Pa.; close friend and companion Lorraine Mazzocco of Republic, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., 20 North Mill Street, New Salem, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, May 18, until 10:30 a.m., when a prayer service will be held.
A Funeral Mass follows at 11 a.m. in Saint Thomas Church in Footedale, Pa., with the Rev. Father James L. Popochock, as Celebrant.
Interment will be in Saint Thomas Cemetery, Footedale, where Military Rites will be accorded by the Hopwood AMVETS Post 103.
A Parish Wake Service will be held on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
