Elizabeth Peggy Mason King
Elizabeth Peggy Mason King, 72, of Smithfield, Pa., died Sunday morning, Mother’s Day, May 14, 2006, in her home. She was born on June 18, 1933, in Davidson, Fayette County, Pa., the daughter of Ethel Viola Mason and William Mason.
Elizabeth was a dearly loved member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Fairchance, Pa., where she held the following offices: Past President of the Pastor’s Aid Committee, Vice President of the Deaconesses, Treasurer of the Calvary Chorus, member of the Women’s Chorus, Head Cook of the Mount Calvary kitchen, Secretary of the Usher Ministry, and Secretary of the Senior Choir.
She also served as Head Cook of the YWBA and was a member of the YWBA Mass Choir.
She was predeceased by her parents, Vera Mason, Delores Mason, Ernest Mason, and a son, Robert Mason.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Russell P. King of Smithfield, Pa.; her sister, Wilma Mason of Dale City, California; a daughter, the Rev. Debra Thomas-Rusiski of Pittsburgh, Pa.; three sons, William King Sr. and his wife Nina of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Philip King and his wife Linda of Uniontown, Pa., Thurman King and his wife Erin of Hopwood, Pa.; 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friend will be received for visitation in the MOUNT CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH in Fairchance, Pa., on Friday from 2 to4 and 6 to 9 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 20 at 10 a.m. in the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main Street, Uniontown, Pa., with the Rev. Robert Crable, officiating.
Interment will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
