PennDOT announces schedule

Christopher T. Sleighter, Fayette County maintenance manager with the state Department of Transportation, has announced the following tentative work plan for the week beginning Monday. – Joint deck repairs will be performed on state Route 1029 in Everson and state Route 711, East Crawford Avenue.

– Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout Fayette County.

– Mechanized patching is scheduled for state Route 4032 in Waltersburg.

– Patching is scheduled for state Route 2007, Gibbon Glade Road.

– Pipe flushing and brush cutting are scheduled for various state routes in the Mill Run area.

– Base repairs are scheduled for state Route 4005, Grindstone Road, and state Route 4004, Hibbs Road.

– Surface treatment/oil and chipping operation is scheduled for state Route 2011, Dinner Bell Five Forks Road, and state Route 2006, Five Forks Road.

– Side dozing is scheduled for state Route 3006, New Geneva Road.

– Small line painting is scheduled for state Route 119, the Uniontown bypass.

All maintenance activities are conducted on a weather-permitting basis. PennDOT reminds motorists to drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the usage of headlights.

PennDOT has a 24-hour toll free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern. The number also can be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways. The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623).
