Helen Debreczeni
Helen Debreczeni, 81, of Daisytown, Pa., died Thursday, May 18, 2006, in the Donnell House, Washington, Pa., following a brief illness. She was born December 30, 1924, in Daisytown, Pa., a daughter of the late Steve and Elizabeth Vargo Sakach, Sr.
Mr. Debreczeni was a graduate of California High School.
She was a member of the Daisytown Hungarian Presbyterian Church in Daisytown, Pa.
Mrs. Debreczeni was a homemaker and worked during World War II as “Rosy the Riveter” building and welding landing craft for a company at Neville Island.
On September 21, 1946, she married Joe Debreczeni who died December 6, 2000.
Surviving is a daughter, Joyce Debreczeni of Palm Springs, California; also several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her husband and parents, is a son, Joseph R. Debreczeni who died December 3, 1993, two brothers, Steve and William Sakach and a sister, Elizabeth Breznak.
Friends will be received Saturday, May 20, 2006, from 10 to 1 p.m. the hour of Services in the JOHN B. GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, Pa., with the Rev. Paul Min officiating.
Interment will be in Beallsville Cemetery.
