Edward S. “Ted” Silman

Edward S. “Ted” Silman, age 86, of Phoenix, Arizona, and formerly of Uniontown, Pa., died Wednesday, May 17, 2006. He was born August 15, 1920, the son of the late Samuel Silman and Beatrice Lewis Silman.

Edward graduated from the now former North Union High School with the Class of 1938 and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Illinois.

He was a veteran of World War II who served in the United States Army Air Corps.

Edward was a Vice-President of Purchasing in the electronics industry for over thirty years.

He was a member of the Pilgrim Lodge No. 691 F. & A. M., Lodge of Perfection of the Valley of Steubenville, the Pittsburgh Consistory and the Syria Shrine, and a former member of the Uniontown Lions.

He is survived by his son, Wayne E. Silman and his wife, Judith; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home on Tuesday, May 23, 2006, from 10 a.m. until Noon followed by a celebration of his life at Noon with the Rev. Michael I. Orsted officiating.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 47 will conduct Military Rites at the Chapel of Memories in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.

Interment will follow.
