Louis Dayich, age 69, of Waynesburg, Pa., who was raised in the Scenery Hill area, graduated from California State Teachers College (now California University of Pennsylvania), did graduate work at Duquesne University and West Virginia University, taught Political Science at Cannon-McMillan School District and retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in Waynesburg, died Sunday, May 21, 2006, at home. He is survived by his wife, Loretta Anthony Dayich, whom he married January 20, 1959, in Saint Michael’s Syrian Orthodox Church, Monessen, Pa.; children: Lou M. Dayich and his wife Holly of Waynesburg and Karina Jane Dayich of Pittsburgh, Pa.; grandchildren: Nicholas Anthony Dayich and Annie Elizabeth Dayich; aunt, Veda Peters of Washington Pa.; and cousins.

Friends will be received in the Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, Pa., Chuck Behm, Funeral Director, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, May 24, until 11 a.m.
