Jessica Ritenour was named February student of the month by the faculty of Laurel Business Institute (LBI). She graduated May 18 with a specialized associate degree in small business management. Ritenour also graduated as valedictorian with a 4.0 grade-point average on Feb. 2 in esthetics and professional makeup. She has been named to the Dean’s List for five consecutive semesters.

Ritenour, a resident of Indian Head, graduated from Connellsville Area High School in 2004, where she also attended North Fayette Vo-Tech in cosmetology. She is a licensed cosmetologist and works at Salon Capelli and Master Cuts. She is interning at the Hranec Sheet Metal Corp. as part of her small business management program. After graduation, Ritenour plans to move to Virginia and pursue a career in skin care.

Ritenour is the secretary for LBI’s Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) chapter. She competed in the multi-media design and community service project competitions at the PBL State Leadership Conference in Lancaster.
