George “Puggy” Stanovich
George “Puggy” Stanovich, 92, of Brownsville, Pa., passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2006, in the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. He was born April 22, 1914, in Brownsville, Pa., the son of the late John and Mary Stanovich. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rose Lee Stagesin Stanovich, an infant son George Stanovich, an infant granddaughter Velma Ross, a granddaughter, Amy Jo Confer Ross and a great-granddaughter Jenna Ross.
George was a member of the United Mine Workers Association and a member of Saint Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Brownsville, Pa.
He will be sadly missed by his daughters: Barbara Colman and husband, Edwin Hudson of Fla., Marlene Voytovich and husband, Tom of Braznell, Pa., Rose Lee Ross and husband, Jack of Brownsville, Pa. and Michelle Kraft and husband, Robert Jr. of Uniontown, Pa.; eight grandchildren: Roberta and Michael Infanti of Fla., Diane Wolanin of Fla., Denise and John Gerling of Ill., Tom Voytovich who lived with his grandfather in Brownsville, Pa., Jackie and Kenny Ross, John Ross of Brownsville, Pa., Amy Kraft of Uniontown, Pa.; and fianc?, Scott Carl and Roberta and Paul Rubish of Pittsburgh, Pa.; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville. Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. A Panachida Service will be held at the funeral home Saturday, May 27, 2006, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m., in Saint Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Brownsville, Pa. with the Rev. Father Jerome T. Botsko as celebrant. A Parastas Service will be held Friday at 7 p.m., in the funeral home.
