Faye Bailey Birkle
Faye Bailey Birkle, age 100, of Brownsville, Pa., passed away Saturday, May 27, 2006, in the Cloverdale Personal Care Home, Masontown, Pa., where she has been living. She was born October 18, 1905, in Vanderbilt, Pa., the daughter of Ira D. Bailey and Anna Daugherty Bailey.
Faye was a member of the Brownsville Fire Company No. 1 Ladies Auxiliary and The Alphecca Club.
She was a member of the South Brownsville United Methodist Church in Brownsville, Pa. since 1912.
She was a past Matron of The Order of The Eastern Star formerly in Brownsville, Pa.
Faye had also worked as a bookkeeper most of her life starting at Ward’s Supply Company in West Brownsville, Pa., then Superior Auto Parts in Brownsville, Pa., and finally retiring in 1993 from Yuhas Auto Parts in Brownsville, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph W. Birkle who passed away in 1977, two brothers, Charles M. Bailey and Ira H. Bailey, and a sister, Gene B. Crawford.
She will be sadly missed by her son, Joseph Kern Birkle and his wife Nancy, Groton, Connecticut; four granddaughters: Christine Guarino, Devon Weisensee, Greta Jones and Gretchen Birkle; two nieces: Becky Patterson and Sally Vance both of Brownsville, Pa.; one nephew, Keith Bailey and his wife, Joanne; several great-grandchildren; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends will be received at the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, Pa., today until 1 p.m., the hour of the Service with the Rev. Paul E. Wilson officiating.
Interment will follow in Redstone Cemetery, Brownsville, Pa.
Brownsville Fire Company No. 1 Ladies Auxiliary will have a Service in the Funeral Home today at 7 p.m.
Visitation was also held on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m.
