Charles Omer McCune
Charles Omer McCune, 96, of Uniontown, Pa., passed peacefully away May, 29, 2006, in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born on June 6, 1909, in Ruffsdale, Pa., the son of Charlie McCune and Jenny Belle McCune.
Mr. McCune was retired from the Wyno and Yukon Mine and attended the Oliver Number Three Mission.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Evelyn May Shaffer McCune, a second wife, Dorothy I. St. Myers McCune, a daughter, Shirley Irene McCune, three brothers, John McCune, Gilbert McCune and Jim Smith, four sisters, Annabelle McCune, Naomi Hoffman, Julia Grafton and Lillian Love.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Jeannetta Stants of Monongahela, Pa., Helen Marie McCune of Brownsville, Pa., the Rev. Kenneth G. McCune Sr. and his wife Hazel Virginia of Uniontown, Pa., Charles Eugene McCune and his wife Bertha of Milroy, Pa., James Arthur McCune and his wife Donna Diane of Fairhope, Pa., and Linda Diane Valo and her husband Matthew of East Millsboro, Pa.; a step-daughter, Norma J. Wood of Piqua, Ohio; 23 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; a sister Pearl Stants of Ruffsdale, Pa., and a beloved cousin Tom McCune of Jeannette, Pa.
Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, June 2, until 11 a.m. the hour of Service.
Interment will follow in the Barren Run Cemetery, Smithton, Pa.
