Connellsville man sought in drug store robberies

By Josh Krysak 1 min read

State police have issued a criminal arrest warrant for a 35-year-old Connellsville man after he allegedly robbed Nickman’s Drug Store twice this year. Police said Magisterial District Judge Wendy Dennis filed charges of burglary, theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief Tuesday against Shawn Michael Queer as a result of the robberies at the store on Connellsville Street in North Union Township.

According to trooper James Pierce, Queer was caught on store surveillance cameras stealing 15 cartons of cigarettes in early April after he smashed a glass door with a brick to gain entrance to the store.

In February, Pierce said Queer tossed a soda fountain cylinder through the front glass window of the store and then stole 17 packs of cigarettes.

Pierce said criminal charges also have been filed in the February robbery.

Additionally, police said Queer has been wanted on other charges since June 2004 and is one of Fayette County’s 10 most-wanted fugitives.

Police said Queer is about 6 feet tall, weighs about 145 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair.

Anyone with information is asked to call Pierce at 724-439-7111 or the Fayette County Crime Stoppers at 724-437-TIPS.
