Breakthrough Worship Center celebrates anniversary
Breakthrough Worship Center, located in Mount Braddock between Uniontown and Connellsville, will celebrate its two-year anniversary at 7 p.m. Friday. The church welcomes the Rev. Mike Robinson of Passion Fellowship International as guest speaker. Robinson also serves as senior pastor of Western Maryland Christian Center. He is the spiritual covering for Breakthrough. The Breakthrough Praise Band will also lead an anointed praise and worship and drama will be performed by the Ignited youth group with special singing by Darlene Cottington. There will be fellowship following the service.
Breakthrough Worship Center began Oct. 10, 2004, with a large vision and only a handful of people. Today, the church continues to grow. Officials say they are pursuing the vision that God has given.
When the church began, there were no established ministries. The church held regular services to build a foundation. Today, the church has developed several ministries that include a children’s ministry known as Extreme Adventures, youth ministry known as Ignited Youth, Discipleship classes, evangelism teams, praise team that leads anointed contemporary praise and worship, ministry mentorship program, Fresh Fire Ministries, which is an evangelistic youth ministry traveling the region; Intercessory Prayer group, and the most recent, a church plant in a prison in West Virginia.
The Revs. Adam and Hillary Lawson serve as senior pastors of the church. They will enter their eighth year of ministry this November.
Breakthrough Worship Center has been their first church plant, but they plan to be a part of many more.
They have begun to train some as youth pastors, teachers and those who receive the call as pastor.
As the church celebrates its two-year anniversary, they look forward to many years walking out the vision God has given them.
“BWC is a place to come and be refreshed, renewed, restored and revived,’ the Lawsons said. “It is a place where the spirit of the Lord has liberty and the gifts of the spirit are encouraged to move. It’s a place where God is doing a new thing in the lives of people With the majority of the congregation being young people and middle aged, there is a lot of energy in the services. …We are a church reaching this and every generation.
